They may not require ID, but is ordering this likely to disqualify me from future promos with them?

@hpham_53 Got a question for you or anyone familiar with Tracfone.

Purchased a Tracfone phone from QVC and I activated the 1 yr plan with Tracfone... if I transfer that number to another provider, before the 365 days is up; will the phone still auto-unlock after 365? Or will the transfer of the number do something in their system such that it no longer triggers the auto- unlock?
The current TW/TF/ST unlocking policy says "365 days of paid and active service" are required. So I don't think the phone will unlock 365 days from activation if you transfer service out. Previously, the unlocking policy did not specify "active service", so the phone still got unlocked (after 60 days) even if you transferred service out the next hour or day after activation.

Verizon Value Brands (which cludes Total Wireless, Tracfone, StraightTalk, and some others) have an unpublished limit of 6 phones within a certain period (they don't tell you exactly). Last June, they cancelled my order for some Tracfone phones and sent me the following email. I tallied up all my orders and had to go back from Oct 2024 to May 2025, and across 3 brands (TW, TF, ST) to come up with 6 phones.
=============== email from [email protected] ==========
Dear Customer:
Your order has been rejected because you are attempting to purchase more than six items.
As per departmental policy, only six items per shipping address and/or per person may be purchased. You should see a refund back on your account within 24 to 72 business hours depending on your bank.
Any questions about buying more please contact us at 1-888-333-9633, so we can refer you to our Dealer Referral.

Can someone that has already actually received this particular phone from Total Wireless tell us what the boot logo is when you turn it on? Is it Verizon or Total Wireless? Thanks

All TW, TF, ST Motorola phones have booted with a VZ screen for awhile now.

They don't usually ship on weekends so makes sense you wouldn't have tracking info yet - sometimes their email goes to spam but I've also received it after the phone actually shipped. If you have a free UPS account it's easier to track since once it's processed it will show in their system.

So is it safe to assume that once the phone is activated with the original TW sim that it shipped with that it would also work without unlocking if I insert an already active TF or ST sim?

If one decides not to unlock this, can the phone be used on WiFi as a regular device (minus sim service/calls/sms)?

My phone got delivered yesterday afternoon (after a delay because of weekend). The setup was smooth - once I completed my initial setup and connected my phone to WiFi, there were multiple security/OS updates that came in. After I was done with all, the e-sim automatically showed up on my device (I had already completed the phone activation prior to installing updates) after a while.

I believe Metro deal is better because it will be unlocked automatically after 1 year.
