If you get this do not connect it to Internet. Put an Apple 4K streaming device in front of it. If you connect it to Internet it will sniff your LAN and send back all the data it can about you and the other devices on your network, along with screenshots taken every few milliseconds of what's on your screen. I didn't look to see if this TV has cameras on it, but if it does, it will send back photos of you on your couch in your underwear as well.

There's a reason these things are so cheap. YOU are the product. Your harvested data will be sold to anyone who wants to pay for it, be it corporations, governments, police--anyone, along with using it all for targeting you with ads, customized just for you.

Big TVs have gotten cheap.
Why do you suppose that is? They're selling all of your personal data, including screenshots of your video content taken every few milliseconds, along with pictures of you as well as room audio, if it has a camera or a mic. You are the product. That's why it's so cheap. The only way to use this TV is as a monitor that never connects to a network. Put an Apple TV streaming device in front of it or kiss your privacy goodbye even more than you already have.

Quite a few reviews of cracked screens from poor 3rd party delivery service. Just make sure to check & turn the tv on before the delivery people leave

Thanks OP! I've been looking at TVs for a little bit and jumped on this 65" when it was available online for shipping. I would've gone with a larger one if it was available and the price was right. So far I'm happy with mine!

Out of curiosity, is there any point in having a streamer box if you already have a smart TV?
Gets you a almost stock android tv experience vs rokus closed ecosystem. Basically no ads running the android box in app mode

Right. Go ahead and turn that on. Then put a pi-hole on your network and see how often they phone home anyway. Don't be gullible. It's the wild west. No one in the government is regulating your privacy. Only you can.

Have had a 65" Onn 4K Roku TV for going on 6 years now (I'm sure the model has changed since then). Picture is great and gaming is, too, even with all the 60Hz refresh rate haters out there. Got an Apple TV 4K, Nintendo Switch 2 and an old Fire TV box attached to it.

In the last week or two we have had trouble when switching inputs with the new input displaying a dark red washed out picture that only fills up a square portion of the screen...basically black bars on the sides and picture filled top to bottom. Occasionally when switching inputs it will just show a black screen on the new one, like what user Fire_Thief_ mentioned in the first post or two of this thread. It will do it on both the Switch and ATV inputs, and the picture is fine on the Roku TV interface, so it is not a screen issue. Have also switched out cables and that doesn't change things. The only thing that seems to fix it so far is just a hard restart of the TV (not the power button, but restart through the settings menu). Have tried adjusting the HDMI setting to standard instead of auto and that doesn't seem to change anything. Have thus far not been able find any folks with similar issue via Google.

Because smart tv OSs are absolute crap and slow as they have the bare minimum to run roku/fire/android. That or they are "custom" smart tvs that don't have true app stores

[QUOTE=Fire_Thief_;184170504]I have the 50 inch version, and it's great other than the fact that Xbox Series X goes to a black screen upon boot up and I have to hard reset the console every single time I play just to get a picture. This drives me absolutely crazy and is preventing me from ordering this 65 inch version, even tho this price is great and I really need this size TV for my new place. >_
