Don't believe the 60-100 mile range, it's probably closer to 40-50

My tall 14yo is asking for a "motorcycle". I know nothing about these things. Any suggestions would be great.

How does this compare to this other recent deal?

Batteries safe in these? And are they replaceable? Thinking about buying for my 14yo.

The main difference between this and that is that this is an e-bike while that is an e-dirtbike. e-bikes are generally speaking more likely to be legal for road use in your area, but it varies state by state, so you should familiarize yourself with the classifications used by your state. e-dirtbikes typically won't have working pedals and will almost always reach higher speeds than a legal e-bike. With that said, there are absolutely e-bikes with pedals that could also fall into the e-dirtbike classification as well, so again, it's important to understand how your state or country classifies e-bikes and what the requirements are to ensure it remains legal to ride on public roads. If your kid wants an e-motorcycle, there's a good chance he's referring to a Tuttio, which the e-dirtbike link you shared is a clone of. That is probably what he wants. But I don't know of anywhere where it is legal to ride those on the streets without first figuring out how to get a title and registration for it. deciding to buy one over the other ultimately comes down to what you want your kid to have and how you want him or expect him to use it.

Kinda feel like these should all come with blinkers and reflectors. They're basically mopeds

My 15AH gets to 20 on a good day with gradual hills.

For a fat wheel bike with a 750 W*hr battery, it's probably closer to 25-30 -- and that assumes that the rider actually pedals.

Do not buy your 14yo a motorcycle, at least not for a few years -- and probably not even then.

Motorcycles require licenses, insurance, registration, etc. They also kill young riders at a high rate -- better to put them in a car (armor!), and let them think about getting a motorcycle later when they're an adult.

You could get your 14yo an electric bicycle, however -- but do make sure it's actually a legal electric bicycle as defined where you live, but do keep in mind that even 20 mph is more than enough to kill somebody, and there's a lot to be said for just letting the kids ride a meat-powered bicycle.

In the US, in general: If it doesn't have working pedals, it's not a e-bike. If it can go over 28 mph under motor power, it's not an e-bike. If it has over 750 watts of power, it's not an e-bike.

(This does look like a legal e-bike in the US, though some states probably prohibit anything that can go over 20 mph with a throttle as opposed to pedal assist -- though it might be possible to limit the speed to 20 mph or disable the throttle in lieu of pedal assist. Not that many people actually do this.)
