These are really good apparently. "Smokeless" pits can be found on Amazon. I couldn't find the Costco one in season on clearance and ended up getting a small smokeless one on Amazon for like $75. Same "technology". But as others have said, Costco backs their products up. Mine was a cheap risk taken on Amazon. Only regrets I have is I got one too small…

I am on fifth Summer with mine, keep it outside (with included cover) in the Northeast from April-November and it's looking worn but good, just some discoloration of the inside metal with no major rust or holes

I picked the Cuisinart bundle from the Sam's club deal last month for $120 and now finding out about heat defectors. It seems like there isn't many great options for that model.
