I bought the Yoleo bench deal that was posted last week and I regret it. The bench is lightweight, the padding is minimal, and the gap between the two pieces of padding is so large that it makes it impossible to comfortably use the bench for some exercises. Basically, I got duped into buying a total piece of garbage. I encourage you not to make the same mistake I made.

People try to humble-brag re how big and strong they are... If you are a beginner, this (or pretty much any semi-decent bench) will be good enough for the first 1 or 2 years of your body building journey. Arnold became Mr. Olympia training on worse equipment.

If you do plyometric training, you probably want to use plyo boxes anyway, not a bench.

I see a lot of comments saying buy a nice chair, get a stable one, this isn't the one. Ok look, can you guys suggest a brand, technical spec, or feature that newcomers to working out should be looking for? None of the comments are helping.

Been debating whether to get this simple weight bench or paying more for the Finer Form Multi-Functional FID Weight Bench, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08YWHN79N

Note: There are two Finer Form weight benches that look very similar. The FID model has a backrest that inclines. That's the model I'm interested in. (FID stands for Flat Incline and Decline.)

Don't cheap out on the bench. You need a solid foundation for your exercise routine and this bench is not that. Save some more money and get something worth spending money on.

In this matter less is less. You will just end up buying something else and wasting your time and money.

i think if you are just going to sit on this and do some basic incline/declines its fine.

but the cheap benches are not very stable. if you want to use the bench as something to step on with your feet, then this is not going to do it well.

i would spend more money on something that is going to be more stable.

Your advice is spot on.

However, needs are relative. Available space, time, money, health, and needs/goals all factor into the decision. Everyone's situation is different.

For me, a septagenerian in generally good health but currently only doing cardio, I could probably get by with some dumbbells and a chair. But if I bought a chair, I'd make sure that it was a good one. 😇

there is a gap when you do a decline position, like for sit ups, it exposes the gap with metal exposed. I just put a pillow.

Any recommendations for a solid home gym bench that isn't cheap but also won't break the bank?
