Depends on what kind of hacking, if you want to install fully custom Android ROM with newer Android 13+ for example, it is patched enough to not allow that. But using FireTools mentioned earlier, you can debloat, and de-ad the tablet so it runs faster and uses Google store. But it still runs a very old Android OS, and some newer apps don't support such old OSes anymore. Good for watching videos or basic browsing.

no Fire device after 2019 can be rooted or bootloader unlocked

and the color you want for the 2021 10HD is "slate" because that is the plus model with wireless charging and twice the ram

but this batch doesn't have the slate
