HP printers are never a deal. It's sad that people still buy their overpriced garbage.

If you buy this you will be presented with a $250 ink purchase once every three months and then you'll discover that the printer stops working or something is seriously wrong with it

This. Inkjets fail/clog if you don't use weekly or bi-monthly.

It's HP marketing. It's a way for their driver to try to minimize paper use and analyze your text usage on the page, remove ads, etc.
Read more about it here: https://www.hp.com/us-en/printers...nters.html
Does it have use, and does it work? Sure. But HP is still overpriced, and inkjet printing is for people who constantly print, week after week; if you ever don't, expect the entire thing to be a clogged mess.

HP instant ink is juts a subscription service. One that can work for many users. My father in law is on the free plan. Gets 15 pages a month which is plenty. Even with my three kids it's still far cheaper than buying the over priced ink cartridges. So this is less of a pro for instant ink cartridges but a defense of the lessor of two evils.

And let's be honest printing in general is dying out. Hard copy is less and less relevant. Professors want no part of it. It will continue to dwindle until is essentially gone.

Dispite the feeder for scanning, this does not duplex scan (no 2-sided scanning). I have this and wish I could have confirmed that beforehand. It also constantly disconnects from the network despite wifi showing it's connected

Pay the extra $50 to $80 and get a comparable Epson EcoTank. Your wallet will thank you.
