I think I've seen it for cheaper within the last few weeks, but no tax outside CA offsets a chunk of the difference.

Is this as powerful as a corded rigid chain saw?

A battery-powered saw or chainsaw is never going to be as powerful as the corded version. They're not bad (I love both my Dewalt 12" and 16" chainsaws), just not as powerful.

No, but for what it's designed for (branches) it has plenty of power. The freedom of being cordless makes it worth it. It is $20 more than on the 9th though.

Have it. Love it. Good price. Just get in the habit of putting in chain oil and then pouring it back out after each use. Otherwise, it leaks like crazy when stored.

Ridgid does not make corded chainsaws now, and I am not sure if they ever made a 9" version. I have a larger corded version, and it has not been out of the box in years, while this one and a 16" EGO get all the action. Large gas chainsaws are more powerful than both battery saws and corded saws. For me, any tree that needs a big gas saw is going to be dropped by others. This is perfect for nearly everything for the average homeowner experiencing occasional storm damage
