I'm bummed having the Elite USA which never goes on sale anymore and just needing stage 3. Should have gotten it while it was on sale years ago, that's the last I've seen it.

I missed the last sale on the EXPs last time, so I bought them this go around. For the Elite USAs, are you at all annoyed by the "cage" of the two bars at the top? I feel like the EXPs are a good alternative, being that its a more "open cage"

No, it doesn't bug me. Felt odd maybe the first time I used them but after that I don't think about it at all anymore.

I've heard good things about PowerBolock, is this the best one to start with and is this a good price?

I've been using them almost 3 years now. They're great. I got all 3 stages from woot back then a little cheaper, but this is probably the new low price. I looked at others for substantially more money, they all seemed prone to the locking mechanism breaking that selects the weight. These seem the most durable. If something did break, you could jb weld epoxy them and keep going. Highly recommend.
