Looks like the Pixel 10 deal from Feb is back for round 2. T-mobile is offering targeted customers upgrade to the Pixel 10 for free on EIP with any trade-in (must obtain IMEI), any condition (broken is okay), any plan.

Since this is a new promo code, you can get more Pixels even if you got in on the Feb deal, as long as you are targeted for this. In the previous deal, the targeted customers were small in the beginning, but eventually grew to pretty much everyone. So if it doesn't work for you now, check back later. See the wiki / Community Notes for helpful posts by SDers.

To find out if you are targeted, mock upgrade online or through T-life and see if you are offered the Pixel 10 for free with a broken trade-in.

It can when the phone is paid off, unlike Verizon-based carriers.

All Pixels other than Verizon (including cable operators) can be OEM/bootloader unlocked once they can be SIM unlocked.
So, in 2 years we can install grapheneOS on this phone?

You can do it right now if you pay the phone off early. Not sure if T-Mobile still early credits.

You do have to wait 40 days after paying off the device to unlock on T-Mobile. Lookback period for fraudlent payoff.

If I still have remaining bill credits for the next several months on my current phone (Pixel 9), will I lose those credits when trading the phone in? I've seen conflicting information about this. The fine print says if you pay off the phone early, you lose the credits, and during the trade in process they are charging me for the amount left to pay off my phone, so I assume that means the credits for my current phone will end.

T-mobile changed their upgrade policy since the last deal, good and bad.

Good:
Costco members can get their $100 upgrade gc, $35 connection fee waived, and 90 day return policy through online orders. No more waiting at the kiosk, no more hard upsells, no more calling the help desk. Order online at your convenience. Must start the order through the upgrade button on the Costco T-mobile page [costco.com]. If your trade-in IMEI is not accepted by the online system, you will have to call in or visit the kiosk where they can override the system.

Bad:
Certain free lines no longer qualify for upgrade promos. Previously, all lines allowed upgrade promos, but no longer. You will have to check line by line to see which allows upgrading (the system will warn you if the line does not qualify). You can still stack upgrade EIP / promos on the same line then use the phone on a different line.
This is a game-changer.

By pay off the phone early do you mean skip the credits and just pay for the phone? How do you pay it off early if it's free with credits?

Skip the credits and pay the remaining balance? How do you pay off a phone early if it's free with credits?

And isn't any existing lines on EIP can no longer get this since one of the credits will be dropped?

I highly recommend doing an in person trade in vs. the mail. I did 4 phones last round and 1 wasn't fully received correctly in their system, even though it was received and inspected, and it took several calls and past due bill before the promo was restored and bill balance rectified.

Regarding paying off EIP early, my understanding is that for some time now you do not get remaining bill credits if you pay off early. In the past, you could and the credits would continue.

Ive read you can have multiple EIPs per line. You just can't pay off an EIP early without losing remaining credits.
