If it had OpenWRT support, a good buy. Otherwise avoid. Linksys/Belkin is trash without third party support. On occasion, their hardware can pack a good punch though, like the MX4300 with OpenWRT.

I'm using the provided ATT Modem/Router combo. I'm not a networking guru, so I don't even know what OpenWRT means. For $20 will this improve the signal in my house to warrant the minimal spend? I don't need competitive gamer speeds, just reduce a little lag in the upper floor/corners of the house.

Nah we haven't seen the fallout of that stupidity yet. Existing devices that are approved are fine. It's going to be when new technology comes along that it's going to be a problem. Like many of his policies, the true horrors have a several month delay before they really set in.
