That's what I was thinking too, when I asked the question. This seller is known to be shady, and has previously tried to sell returns and used ones as "new."

I received an open iPhone 13 with a Verizon sim taped to the box. Make it make sense. Used VIP outlet before and didn't have a problem...not sure what the deal is
