This needs a massive YMMV, lol. Pricing and speeds are going to vary significantly by region.

Your knowledge is a bit off. They have a wifi hotspot option on their gateways but you can easily turn it off with the app. You can also put it in bridge mode if you really want to use your own router but I'm good the wifi 6 2.5GB capable one they provide at no charge.

Nope. My offered prices have been steady with no discount for a few years now. This is probably regional, at best. Huge YMMV which is typical with Comcast.

Wish there was a good deal for 2Gig, but it's $100 for 5yr lock. Really wanted it at $70

Did you check offers as an existing customer or as a new customer? Might need to log out of your account or do incognito to check

Existing, as always. It's been many, many years since Comcast has honored new customer offers for their existing customers. It's become massively YMMV, but these days the reps look up what offers your account is eligible for and rarely is it on par with new customer offers.

well, i'm suggesting you check as a "new" customer. if they are offering this in your area for new customers, then there are ways to migrate an existing account as a "new" customer and get these offers (search previous deals similar to this to understand how to do it but first check as if you are a new customer).

Looks like YMMV, what price are you seeing for 2gig for 5 years if you have this offer in your account?

I am being offered 1gb for $100/month, or 2gb at $85 a month. Both 5 year deals. I currently pay $45 for 500 mb/s speed

Agree with many that it is either YMMV or new account only.

Let me explain in case anyone has false hope:

FYI, I am currently on 1gb plan at $50/month (= $50 discount due to 1-yr promotion offer +$10 autopay). This price end in October so I am on the market for a better deal. The downside is that I also use Xfinity Mobile new iPhone payment, so can't easily leave Xfinity.

1. As an existing customer, my first screenshot shows what "new deals" I have: $100/1gb or $115 for 2gb. Both require autopay. Compared to what I have, essentially I only secure $10 autopay. Oh, wait, autopay is a prerequisite.

2. OK, some suggest check address offer as a "new customer". I did that. See my 2nd screenshot. Oh, it only cost $50/1gb for my home address! Hooray, I win! Right? No, you don't.

As 10 years customers with them, I tried different ways to "convince", "find loopholes" to get the new account benefit, it is hard or those who managed to do that won't disclose to the public (otherwise that path would be closed soon like manufactured spending). Please don't assume existing customers, might/maybe/there is chance/I know/I heard, could get new customer benefits. Unless you would like to disclose a convincing way. Don't waste everyone's time. It is as if to say you are convincing Chase to give you sign up bonus every year for continuously holding their cards. Do you believe that? These company treat your loyalty as BS. The only way to get that is to leave them and come back later.

When I check in the private mode, after I enter my home address, Xfinitly list 4 options for me (see the top of the 2nd screenshot). They are well aware that people might do this so your chance to get new account benefit as existing customers are pretty low.

With that said, if people still have hope, maybe have P2 create a new account as a new "Mover" and we transfer our Xfinity mobile lines there? Will the monthly iPhone purchase credit be transferred as well? That's a interesting thought. Be my guest to give a try and update us your story later.

Log into your account and click choose to change/update your plan. I do see it in my account.

For anyone who has it, how is their Wifi gateway? Do they also provide mesh network or pods/extenders as part of the equipment?

I have always used my own modem and router, but my current equipment will not support that fast of speeds.
I was given xb8 gateway but disabled WiFi on it and using with my old eero mesh routers. But I observed the signal is strong with xb8 in my 2 bedroom apartment.

I see it as well. Tempting. They did remove the Disney+/Hulu perk, but the 5 year deals are actually better than 1 year deals, which was what was offered last week. Great that it's also available for existing customers from what I can see on my account.
Hulu and Disney+ were never part of the original $50 for 5 year deal just with the $70, which to me is a bonus since on sale I can get both of those for around $10.

Their gateway is good and is very powerful usually more than enough for a 1500-2000sqft house depending on external factors. Yes you can pay additional fee and get some extenders for their service. You can still use your own router and modem but if you use your own modem you LOSE unlimited data and will be capped per their terms and have to pay if you cross over 1.2TB I believe it was.

You can just turn off the wifi on the gateway and set it to bridge mode and use your own router also.

Quote from scolson1 :
Do you have to use ever gateways and routers? I have my own that I like and don't really want to swap. I do want to save money though.
To get unlimited data you need to use their modem, if you dont mind having a 1.2TB data cap before they charge you for more data per month, you can continue to use your own modem. As for the router you can always use that with the gateway.

Quote from vanbboy :
Been with ATT for forever. Might as well switch. I use the ATT modem. Will Xfinity provide the modem and if so how much?
I would and I did, switching from fiber ATT to this because why pay $75 for 300mbps if you can get 1gig for $51 after taxes and fees. Yes they will provide a all in one gateway. Look above for more information.

Thats why you either setup a new account under your wifes name or childrens name dont matter, or you do what I do. Cancel the service with immediate shut off, return any devices you might have for them wait 24-72 hours for their system to update to show you are no longer using their service and than just sign right back up as a new customer.

For the immediate shut off and sign back up, do you keep the same account and it will show as a new customer? I tried to use my other account to get new customer promotion. But as long as it points to the same service address it will deny my access to shop for any plans.

No, a new account number has to be generated, I literally just did this when this promotion first came around at my second home, and I got a new account number, all other info was the same. I also ordered online so I never had to talk to anyone. Even if you are logged into your online account with the existing account number, as long as your account shows no current services, it will generate you a new account after you process the order. After the new service is up and running anytime you sign into the website you will get a screen after the username/password with the account numbers listed and you just pick the new account number to manage it.

There is no guaranteed upload speed for Xfinity, on average around 20mbps should be the average for most customers on the 1gig plan. Some people get as low as 5mbps all the way up to 200mbps. Comcast is not symmetrical internet like most fiber companies since Comcast is Fiber to the Curb and not to the home. The 200Mbps possibility is only on the 1gig plan the lower teirs do not have that possibility.
