Hulu and Disney+ were never part of the original $50 for 5 year deal just with the $70, which to me is a bonus since on sale I can get both of those for around $10.
Their gateway is good and is very powerful usually more than enough for a 1500-2000sqft house depending on external factors. Yes you can pay additional fee and get some extenders for their service. You can still use your own router and modem but if you use your own modem you LOSE unlimited data and will be capped per their terms and have to pay if you cross over 1.2TB I believe it was.
You can just turn off the wifi on the gateway and set it to bridge mode and use your own router also.
To get unlimited data you need to use their modem, if you dont mind having a 1.2TB data cap before they charge you for more data per month, you can continue to use your own modem. As for the router you can always use that with the gateway.
I would and I did, switching from fiber ATT to this because why pay $75 for 300mbps if you can get 1gig for $51 after taxes and fees. Yes they will provide a all in one gateway. Look above for more information.
Thats why you either setup a new account under your wifes name or childrens name dont matter, or you do what I do. Cancel the service with immediate shut off, return any devices you might have for them wait 24-72 hours for their system to update to show you are no longer using their service and than just sign right back up as a new customer.
Thats why you cancel service and wait a few days and reopen as a new customer again, or setup service under someone else in the household, thats how its done.

After over a decade with xfinity and them refusing to budge on lowering the bill or offering me the same pricing they would give a new customer (though they did mention if a new account was opened in my spouse's name in theory that could result in the promotional new customer pricing being available to me) I ended up switching to AT&T fibre internet.. they waived the $99 installation fee (they're serious about stealing xfinity's customers it looks like) and I've noticed a definite speed boost far as wireless and wired (ethernet cable) internet, pretty happy with the modem/router they provide too far as said wifi / wired internet access. We're on the gigabit plan. (hint, if you're considering getting a phone landline through them ... I know I know we're dinosaurs who does landlines anymore
Also be prepared for the AT&T sales reps you speak to on the phone (heck apparently even if you sign up online without speaking to a live human) to lie to you far as the promised $150 or more visa gift card... despite the AT&T website clearly stating you would get a $200 gift card for switching to AT&T at the 1 GB internet plan we signed up for and the phone sales rep promising the same, a call to their "retention I'm going to close my account" department resulted in a puzzled rep wondering why I was promised that given it was supposed to be a gift card for 2.5 gigabit or faster internet speeds.. to their credit they said they would work on it anyways ($175 instead of the $200 ) but I could expect another 6 week delay on top of the 1 month delay that's already happened... there are lots of bitter reddit complaints about AT&T sales reps who constantly have their sales goals moved so they'll say anything to customers, customers who are still waiting on said visa gift card and general complaints that each AT&T rep will give you a completely different answer to any given question (common in this day and age when dealing with call centers I know)
Apologies I know this was supposed to be a thread about Xfinity and I ended up talking about AT&T
When i called the rep was so surprised that I knew this backdoor trick on how to get promo lol.

Don't get me started on their BUGGY/LAGGY website though!

You can activate the new line immediately. To cancel you need to call in and put in an actual cancel date (immediate or delayed). If you don't they will disconnect the old line eventually after ~1 month but you will be paying for both lines during that time.
