Thank you. I've owned (and broke) a Chili Ooler and it would chill or heat the water. It worked but I was not happy that it crapped out & leaked after only a few years.
I also had one of those. It was cool when I laid on it, but 30 mins later my bodyheat would negate it and it would lose a lot of the cool.

I've been looking at these and I would love a cooler bed. However, I'm very used to using a weighted blanket. I assume it won't work so well with those?

I've had one of these for a while now and while they're great for cold weather, it doesn't do much as far as cooling goes other than just blowing air. It keeps you nice and cozy though for the cold times of year!
I find that in the summer the fan blowing helps evaporate any sweatiness and can sleep much more comfortably. You set it slightly higher than the room ambient temperature and then the air blown is about the same temp as under the covers. You get the drying effect without getting too cold from a constant air flow.

You can do the same by sleeping without sheets and a fan on, but you're at the mercy of the ambient room temp, and I find that when you start out comfortable, you'll get cold after a while when sleeping. Bedjet keeps things nice and consistent all night. But if your room is just flat out hot at night there's only so much it can do.

I've looked at these before and don't understand: are these basically just a blowing fan or actual air conditioning?
It has a heater built in so it can heat the air - helpful when you keep it a bit cooler in your room but want the bed to be warmer.
For cooling there's no air conditioning, but the cooler air from the room circulated through your sheets effectively cools the bed a few degrees from what it would be otherwise. The only caveat there is if it's warm/hot in the room, in which case circulating in warm/hot air isn't going to help a whole lot.

It would not work well. The cloud sheet does have a little weight behind in, but not like a weighted blanket.

I just returned this thing. It was not worth 300$. I didn't have the special sheet though to put some context. I had it blowing under my regular thin sheet. I puffed up in the middle between my wife and I. So the side closest to the center got a little cooler. However underneath you is still hot and I highly doubt that their special sheet could do anything to resolve a 160lb person blocking the air. It might get some to the other side. So if you're looking to resolve your hot bed problem. This wasn't the solution for me.
Yeah, same here. I get hot from the mattress getting hot, not the air around me. What you should try is the Cold Flash 2.0. It's basically a 12V portable compressor fridge with a built in water pump. The pads are super cheap, like $10, to replace. The entire unit is cheap: $200. And it gets you REALLY cold. Like, you will be hypothermic by the end of the night cold. That's the only thing that kind of sucks about the Cold Flash, is that it's just a simple design with no smart features like timers, temp monitoring, etc...

Isn't it just a fan running?

edit: I didn't realize these have a heater built in also, that can certainly rack up the bill if you run it too much
Have had a BedJet for probably 12+ years. Any power usage will increase your power bill, but consider this, we really just have to look at winter time. In winter time, your only running the thing when you sleep. Let's look at worst case scenario, it would be no different than running a 1500 watt space heater. Now keep in mind, that is the biggest space heater you can run. However, Bedjet is going to not run on high at all times, it is going to regulate how high or low the output of the elements. Much of that depends on your settings. Want to keep your power usage down, but want to be more comfortable than before, run a lower temp and a lower fan speed. The higher you run the fan, the more the elements have to put out. I don't worry about it. I have sleeping disorders and my health and sleep are more important.

Personal preference. You don't *need* it but many people much prefer it. There is a 60-day return policy to try it out.
So, let's look at what the Cloud sheet is. The cloudsheet is two sheets sewn together. It has small holes on one side, the side that faces you. They are tiny, and not too many of them. The holes are placed in certain areas. So, I have used it with and without the cloudsheet. The cloudsheet is more comfortable to sleep under. First, it allows the air to flow toward your whole body better buy creating a pillow, which raises your comforter up if used. It also feels better on your body. Hence the name cloud. If the quality of the new ones are the same as the ones when Bedjet first came out, it will last you forever. I am a 12+ year user. They are expensive, but if they last that long, find them on sale, buy one or two, and think about that it is not much if you divide it out over all the years you use it. Other words, do not lose sleep over it...lol.

Does this thing do anything for the body heat buildup from cuddling against your partner? I can only take so much of that before I begin to sweat, but sometimes my partner likes to cling to me for hours lol.
