Real question. Why does this need to be impact rated? How hard and fast are you hand cranking this? But for real why?

So you can take the bits and use them in an impact driver. Personally, I wouldn't because they would still wear out relatively quickly, but I guess I can see the appeal.

A drill or impact driver is a carpal tunnel syndrome saver - lots of little screws and fasteners to turn when you are working on a bunch of lighting or camera boxes, switches, outlets, etc. There are six screws just to remove most breaker panel covers. This comes in handy for AC work, too. And everything is in one, small, neat package.

But for most people, you're right: not much point when a multi-tool would work almost as well.

These things are like a Swiss Army knife. Buy a couple/few. Throw one in your junk drawer, one in the glovebox, one in the garage. There are an awful lot of small jobs that can be accomplished just with one of these instead of a whole toolbox.

Not just this bits, the hex shaft pulls out of the handle and that can go into your driver. You can use the bits or the sockets. I have 2 and they're actually very useful. Comes with a good assortment of bits. Only negative is there is no empty slot to store the last bit, it must remain on the end of the shaft. Same goes for when you want to use the socket, you're left with a loose bit.
