Bosch's 12 amp fixed router stands out as a powerful table router, with the motor and 2.25 horsepower getting the strongest praise. The wood handles are a nice touch, and the tool takes both 1 4 inch and 1 2 inch collets. It has been used successfully in router tables, including full size setups, and the plunge base combo adds extra value since the base alone is usually around $150. The main tradeoff is that the deal item ships in a cardboard box rather than the nicer case. A strong fit for table work if you want Bosch power and flexibility.

  • Woodworkers mounting a fixed router in a table, because it has enough power to feel like a beast and works great in that setup.

  • Makers who want a strong motor for heavy cuts, because the motor is considered worth the price and moves wood easily.

  • Buyers considering the plunge-base combo, because the base alone is normally around $150 and the package is praised as a strong value.

  • Shop users needing a router that accepts both 1/4-inch and 1/2-inch collets, because it supports both sizes.

  • Woodworkers who need a lightweight, modest router, because this one is described as a beast that is probably more than most will ever need.

That was a screaming deal. I paid $170 for the plunge kit and I thought I got a good deal. That router moves some wood.
