I've found this to be immensely useful in identifying older spec, low wattage cables that didn't charge things as fast so I could recycle them and get them out of my cable pile.

Had one of these for under a year and the display quit. The charging function still works, but since the display is a headline feature, it was disappointing. Contacted Sabrent for warranty service and their response was not very helpful ... "ship it back to us and we'll determine if it's covered." Asked them to cross-ship me a new one so that I wouldn't be out of my primary charging station while this went on, and there response was "buy a new one, and we'll refund you if we determine it's covered", leaving me in the lurch for $90 (which was what the price was at the time).

Not impressed.

You gave yourself a clue on how to handle this since Sabrent is not very helpful.

Does it re-negotiate all devices when plugging/unplugging devices?
Nope, I don't think so. Jeff Geerling had one and it did not re-negotiate when unplugging.

In the case you don't need USB-C (a rarity these days I know), you can get the Anker PowerPort 360 (also known as the Anker PowerPort 6) and both of those don't renegotiate when something gets plugged in, so your Pi won't shut down. I use one to power two Pi 3B+ and have plugged in other things without issue.
Yeah, if I just had USB A stuff, something like that would work since it does not need to negotiate power requirements. I have some little usb-pd to 5.1 v 5a adapters for my pi5 that need usb-pd and usb C to work.

The display also went out on mine. I mashed the button about 20 times and it came back on, and has been working fine ever since.

I have a 10-port model that's been going strong since 2017. I'm in for upgrade with more wattage and display. Cheers!

Good deal at $60 but it's coming up as $76 for me. I was thinking of buying a second as I already own one and really like it -- oh well. Maybe it'll drop again later today.
edit: nevermind, I accidentally put an extra character in the coupon code. deal still works
