This TCL 52 inch ceiling fan stands out for strong airflow, quiet DC motor operation, and a remote that doubles as a convenient second switch from bed or across the room. Installation is described as easy overall, and the 2 year fan warranty plus 10 year motor warranty add some reassurance. The main concern is the LED light, which can glow faintly when off or behave unreliably in some setups, and the fan may be too powerful for a bedroom on high. The coupon is required to reach the advertised price.

Common Questions (5)

  • It can. Several reports describe a faint glow or bleed from the LED when the light is switched off, especially with certain wall switches or wiring setups; others report no glow at all. If it happens, testing with a regular switch can help determine whether the issue is switch leakage or wiring-related.

  • It is not compatible with dimmer setups, and the remote is required for normal control because it uses a DC motor. A standard on/off wall switch can work, but the remote acts as the main control and may need special programming if multiple fans are nearby.

  • The advertised $70 price requires applying the checkout coupon. Without it, some carts showed higher totals such as $149.99 or $159.99, but using the coupon dropped the price to $70 for the deal price.

  • Yes. Owners describe it as very strong, with the highest speed feeling "nervously fast" or "crazy fast," while lower speeds are quiet and suitable for living spaces. The DC motor and blade pitch are cited as reasons it can move air efficiently.

  • It is generally reported as easy to install, even for non-experts, though some units may have blade screws torqued very tightly and require extra effort or drilling out. The fan also comes with a 2-year fan warranty and a 10-year motor warranty.

Bought it, installed it, seems nice. Replaced a much louder older fan. No phantom glowing light here.
It's not a premium fixture, but it's silent at lower speeds and very quiet on high. High speed is crazy fast. I like that it's a lower voltage motor, with a digital controller, instead of a 120v motor with a dial on the wall that produced some very odd sounds and speed options before.
My DC ceiling fan is like a turboprop airplane engine on high. It's ridiculous! 😃

this is very true. happened on 1 out of 4 of mine on the similar chinese led fans. the light was super dim when its in off position. but its there. like 5 luminums.
Could be a feature depending on where it's installed, actually, but obviously not for a bedroom!

That could be a bug or a quality issue.😂
Or bad wiring. Not that I want to find out if I'm wrong.

Bad wiring on your part maybe, my light turns on with the switch, also turns off with switch. While the switch is "ON", i was able to turn the light on/off with the remote also. But when the switch is "OFF", I couldn't turn the light on with the switch.

It was working fine for 30 days+ and later ran into issues , better buy it with a xtra warranty.

Thank you, Iconian! I jumped on this right away. I purchased and installed one of these a few years ago, and it exceeded expectations. This is a great price with the coupon!

Bosch makes dishwashers. Yamaha has been making motorbikes and pianos for generations. Why in the world would you want to buy a TV manufacturer that's never made a fan over an actual dedicated fan company. Hunter makes great fans. No reason not to get one from a different company. Plus install is the biggest headache. Why go cheap for something you install into your home?
How is installation of a Hunter ceiling fan any different than a TCL?

Please explain. I have two of these and they installed in minutes. Do you not have to cut the power to install a Hunter fan...super advanced like?

I dont have this exact ceiling fan but I do have one in my house where the light isn't fully off even when it should be. I think it happened the last time I changed the bulb type but I can't recall for sure.
Cool. So you changed the whole LED assembly or are you talking about a button on the remote?

ah, I meant a ceiling fan in general (mine has bulbs that are easily replaceable).

Pass. Alot of bad reviews. And this is not compatible with dimmer or on/off switch if you have that as a prior setup. Sounds like a decent small bedroom fan
I'd guess that some of the reviews come from people who don't know the functional end of a screwdriver from the other.

A 2 year warranty on the fan and a 10 year warranty on the motor. Yeah, this is a great deal.

This isn't specific to TCL (although it did happen on one of my TCL fans) but they tend to ship the blade screws torqued down hard into the fan body. I've had to drill out a couple when installing in my new house last year. Worth returning? Yeah probably if you aren't handy.

Light glows when off

a lot of reviews say light still glows when off.
Is it that they're being installed on existing dimmer switches that are leaking current? It does say it's not compatible with dimmer switches. I wonder if anyone has had this happen on hard/non-dimming switches.
