Great launch monitor, pretty accurate as well. Maybe off by 5-10 yards at most

Only someone without a close family or friends would spend their free time watching something they have no interest in lol.

It's a few years old at this point so that's understandable. Plus, the battery life on this thing is ridiculous.
I bought mine for about this price used off eBay a year ago and love it. Well worth it.

Do you use it on its own or with any other devices/apps? I'm am looking for a budget but still good quality launch monitor/sim set up to use at home. A swing analysis coaching app would also be great for quick and easy instant feedback. Do you pair this with anything else, or no need in your situation?

I just started playing last year which is when I bought it. I'm a huge data nerd and can use all the help I can get.

I use it in combination with lots of apps and training aids. I bought a lifetime subscription to Awesome Golf, which has a few good virtual courses and a great range function. I use it with Home Tee Hero, Garmin's simulation offering. That's 10 bucks a month but has thousands of courses that you don't find elsewhere, which lets me practice on the courses nearest to my home. I take extracts of data and ship them off to Gemini for AI analysis. When you subscribe to Garmin you can also capture swing video, which you can then upload to AI for feedback as well. Then there are a complement of free and low cost simulation options like OpenShotGolf, Muni Golf Sim and Infinite Tees (this last one is paid the other two free at present). OSG lets you set up external cameras and has a swing coaching capability.

I 3d printed a knock off of the Blue Brick, which I use in drills to try to keep my swing on plane.

I haven't exactly become Tiger Woods yet but I just managed to get under a hundred the other day, so I've got that going for me which is nice.

I did have a sub to GolfFix for AI swing analysis for a few months but found Gemini did the same for free.

One other thing - be sure you have the right setup for it to work. It's a radar based unit, it works best outdoors with at least 6 feet behind the ball and 8 feet of flight in front (so if you're hitting into a net, you need 14 feet at least). Indoors you'll need the same, but you'll also want to be free of any running motors (fans compressors or appliances). You'll also want to grab a handful of RCT balls which are expensive but lined with foil inside to improve the radar accuracy.

This is great thank you for this and the other comment. Exactly what I was wondering. Do you use a projector or a separate screen somewhere? Do any of those pairings you have offer real-time swing feedback? I love data as well but also know I'll get more out of an immediate swing analysis that's able to coach me or allow me to quickly coach myself on swing mechanics. I'm picturing fast and easy lines on body position throughout the swing, with the ability to compare that to a goal swing overlay, something like that. The swing coach app I saw an ad for looked nice since it gave you a score (+2, -1, 0 etc) and narrated it out loud if you were ahead or behind the ideal swing or goal you were working on.
One other question - is the swing video recording through garmin useful? I thought it was included for free and probably wouldn't pay $10/mo for it, but being able to correlate launch recorder data WITH video (ideally with annotated swing mechanics) is what I'm really after. What would you recommend for that as the goal?
I assume the course simulator is a separate add on (leaning toward awesome golf given one time payment). Would be great to have all of this in one app

I'm pretty sure but not 100% positive that you don't get the video recording feature without the subscription to the Garmin Golf service.

I use a projector and an iPad or PC depending on what software I'm using. I hit into an impact screen.

Unfortunately the real time swing analysis isn't included in anything but the most expensive launch monitors and when it does usually runs as an expensive software subscription.

What you're talking about is doable with GolfFix and other swing apps, you don't even need the launch monitor. I found it somewhat useful, but decided to go with uploading to Gemini instead. Not real time, but I can see where the ball goes on the range and see some limited club metrics to tell me how I hit the ball, then Gemini looks at the video and does the rest including suggesting drills for improvement.

No sub needed for the basic range features and it includes 6 courses at E6 that can run off a PC or iPad.

The Garmin Golf app includes the video recording and the course simulator for ten bucks a month, which is about as reasonable as it gets.
