Just a note on these. The listing says it ships with a PCIE 4.0 drive, but they are actually shipping with 3.0 drives. Can confirm that this is what I received, and customer service acknowledged it. They just said that the SLOT is PCIE 4 even if the drive isn't. Still a good deal IMO

You're wrong. A single DDR5 SODIMM is "dual 32-bit sub-channels" and 64 bits total. The terminology changed only. The two sub channels make a 64-bit channel, and it still takes two DDR5 SODIMM for 128 bit wide memory (technically dual channel, or quad sub-channels if you want) and the full bandwidth.
Compare with single DDR4 SODIMM, it is 64 bit single channel, and two DDR4 SODIMM would be dual channel or 128 bit.

Was wondering if this was dual channel and it is. Too bad 32GB isn't affordable.

As in 2x8GB SODIMM? The good news is the resale market is very swift for RAM right now. You can sell the RAM after buying a 2x16GB kit off eBay.

Or do you mean it supports dual channel? You will indeed want to run this thing in dual channel. If it only comes with a single 16GB SODIMM, you can get another off eBay for ~$125.

Yes I was checking for dual channel since it is an APU. I was also thinking it would be a good idea to sell the ram since I already have a 32GB kit I installed in another mini pc I had to return.

As far as I can see, this is a typical mini with 2x SODIMM slots, so you should be okay with reusing your kit. This is a fairly decent deal for an 8-core Zen 4 / RDNA 3 PC. The prices on these continue to drift up and over $500.

I picked up a used Beelink SER7 with a 7840HS and 32GB RAM off eBay for $450 a month ago, and I'm quite happy with the performance. It's my new PS3 emulation box, and has done a good job playing quite a few AAA PC games at lower settings too. 780M is still a very relevant processor when you give it 8GB from a 32GB PC, leaving you with 24GB, which is plenty for current games on low.

If this was a beelink I would seriously think about jumping on the deal. I've been wanting a mini-pc with the 780m. I tried an ace magic with the 680m but it locked up every time I plugged something into a usb port. I currently have a NUC with the weaker i5-1135G7.

PS3 emulation would be cool. Would you happen to know if they sell refurb or scratch and dent beelink mini-pcs anywhere?

Being 16GB is already kind of bad, but for this chip, I'd want the max of 6400 MT/s per module so that the iGPU isn't as bottlenecked. This uses 5600 MT/s modules. For a 680m, it not as important to have that max.

Your best bet would be eBay, where lots of used models are sold every day. I haven't seen any official source for refurbs, and their new prices have gotten steep.

780m PCs are a good entry level for PS3 emulation. I played through the entirety of Killzone 2 the other day, and it was a mostly flawless experience once I had the settings dialed in.

As for Beelink, I'm really impressed with their customer service. The PC I bought from eBay had a slightly damage power adapter, one of those stupid magnetic models they shipped with the SER7. I contacted Beelink support and they requested a couple pictures and the serial number, then they shipped me a new adapter free of charge. They originally wanted me to send proof of purchase (the eBay seller didn't have it) but they waved that requirement after I told them I couldn't find the original invoice.

One of the things worth remembering is that DDR5 memory is dual-channel. One stick is dual-channel. It's not like DDR4 which is single-channel and you have to have two sticks for dual-channel. So one stick of DDR5 SODIMM is not a big deal. Sure, 32GB is nice, but at this power level, it's not going to make much difference with the games that will be played on it. This model apparently has 2 8GB sticks of DDR5 memory, so it's quad channel.
The one thing that concerns me is that a review on the Redragon website says that the VRAM is set at 512MB and is NOT adjustable in BIOS. That's not too surprising with these cheap miniPCs, but disappointing. Also, I don't see that the TDP is adjustable. It's set at 45W. Not horrible. I have a GMKtek K8 (not plus) and while there is some slight adjustability, the performance boost wasn't that significant and it was loud enough at 45W. Pretty decent for the price.

$450 for 5600 32GB sodimms right now basically doubles the cost of this unit in the current market (just looked at newegg prices). Basically you buy this now, use as is, and wait for prices to come down. This is assuming this comes with 2x8GB and not a single 16GB stick. If it comes with a 16GB, then getting another 5600 16GB is about $250. In many ways, it is more economical to buy 2 of these for this price, pull the memory from one into the other if it only has a single 16GB stick, and then sell the one without memory somewhere else for $300-$400.

VRAM actually is adjustable in the BIOS. It's just not available from the standard BIOS or via Smokeless UMAF. They hid the setting, and the details aren't documented anywhere. I had to write customer service for the info.
Advanced settings are accessible in the BIOS by hitting CTRL+D. You'll want to search the web for how exactly to change the VRAM, and don't complain if you break something.
