I have this, it's kinda annoying me how thin the padding is. I'm a wiry guy and the platform really digs into the back of my legs behind the knee. Using a folded up tshirt most of the time for extra padding when doing crunches. Will probably carefully remove the upholstery and add extra padding to see if that helps.

Don't do crunches. There are plenty of better exercises to replace crunches with that aren't bad for your back like crunches are.
