Actually a good drop in GPU for any old slim Optiplex since it doesn't require external power

There's only about a 60% chance you'll receive an old Fermi card BIOS flashed to fake a 3050.

How does this card compare to the mobile 3050 Ti 4GB?

All the news about fake cards being sold through Ali lately, and this seller is new (Open since: Feb 12, 2026), I think I'll pass on this one.

Should be pretty easy to figure out if you remove the shroud. I doubt they are going to be reprinting the chips and PCB's.

FWIW, I'd bet there is a 0.01% you'd get a fake 3050....but probably one that didn't pass QC.

Do a little research. Fake graphics cards are more than common on Aliexpress. The return process is too much of a hassle to give this a shot. If it was Amazon, it would be worth the try.

"Do a little research" yourself. There is a big difference between "common" and has (purportedly) happened once or twice in the past. Plenty of people win the lottery but is hardly "common." Bigfoot sightings are also "common"...

I still stand behind the "I'd bet there is a 0.01% you'd get a fake 3050....but probably one that didn't pass QC." (Which is still bad and I never suggested otherwise). Other far more common possibilities (vs an entirely counterfeit 3050 manufacturing ring). Card salvaged from unsold prebuilt PC's or perhaps pulled off of used lease machines. *Not saying one is better or worse than the other, but very different than the massive assumption you are choosing to believe without any evidence. Not to mention counterfeiting something as a complex as a GPU (a 2 gen old model at that...) is likely not worth the effort when any of the other method available are infinitely easier, quicker, cheaper, and does not lead to almost 100% of customers instantly demanding their $ back.

And yes, returns are a hassle on AliExpress and I never disputed that. Just the fact you are more commonly going to run into quality, shipping, or not as described condition issues, vs full blown counterfeits (unless you are shopping luxury clothing, jewelry, watch etc brands). If you did a little research, you'd know that Smilie

Fair enough, go ahead and get one then, hope it works out. The pictures on the page don't even have one of the box. At best you'll get some refurbished 3050, or a non-working one or a fake. Get back to us and let us know.

It doesn't matter if it's legitimate or not because a fake 3050 and a real 3050 both belong in a trash can.

I realize I'm probably the only person who would do this, but using this card as a dedicated PhysX processor alongside a 4090 actually does improve framerate in Borderlands 2. I've ran multiple benchmarks using the 4090 for physx, the CPU (9950x3d) for physx, and the 4090 + 3050 for physx. Having both GPUs results in the highest fps.
