They need to do like McDonald's, Wendy's, Burger King, etc. and just have an app with deals that work with all restaurants. No more of these coupons that most stores can just not participate in.

Community Reviews

Subway coupon threads center on cheap footlong and two footlong deals, with the app and mailer codes sometimes bringing the price down to around $7 or less per sub. The strongest upside is value when the code works, especially on specific sandwiches or veggie options, and the app can be easier than the website for ordering and gift card use. The main drawback is spotty franchise participation, with codes, payment methods, and even in store redemption varying by location. Some orders also come with skimpy meat portions or extra hassle, so the deal depends heavily on the store and ordering method.

  • Regulars who order through the phone app, because the app can surface working footlong offers and accept gift cards when the website blocks them.

    ddt972MegnutOverRuledneuman1001

  • Families splitting two footlongs who want a straightforward discount, because the 1299-for-2 offer can cut the total from $22 to $14 when the order is entered correctly.

    Rpht2000chirsTenderPickle5575

  • Deal hunters willing to follow exact ordering steps, because the meal coupon activates when the items are added separately.

    mdmrahman1988EfficientSnail709

  • Vegetarian lunch buyers who want the cheapest footlong, because the veggie delight is described as the lowest-priced option on the menu.

    IsitbudgetfriendlyIsitbudgetfriendly

  • People depending on every location to honor the same coupon, because acceptance varies by store and some locations reject the code entirely.

    Imma-ToastyCalmSofa389BluffmasterXPurpleScent2237

  • Shoppers who want a hassle-free online checkout, because the website can be buggy, block gift cards, and throw location errors during ordering.

    ddt972CalidaithiPowerfulTerrier1003CharlieChoc

  • Anyone expecting a generously filled sandwich, because some orders come with very little meat even when extra meat is paid for.

    MagentaFog898mrc300

  • People who need a reliable meal after eating out, because one footlong was followed by a severe stomach bug.

I'm in So Cal and only FL899 and FL1699 work for me. Too expensive for Subway!
Every location including in so Cal accepts differently. I have two locations 1 mile apart one takes FL1299 and one takes FL1699

All the subway websites were buggy. But, they just changed it again and I can't get it to accept a gift card as payment, even though it's been set to default payment. I've tried everything and am tired of this and quitting for now. The website sucks.

edit: just got it to accept gift card using the phone app instead of the website. hope it helps someone - that was frustrating as f***
I've also found the web site has a lot of issues. The app is a lot more useable and doesn't have errors that prevent ordering.

The biggest mistake I made last Thursday was ordering a subway footlong. First, the workaround on their site for ordering with a partially full gift card no longer works. Second, even though their website says you can transfer balances between gift cards, if you manage to get through their horrible chat bot they will eventually tell you that capability isn't available yet. Third, and worst of all, the sub I bought gave me a massive stomach bug - the only thing I ate that day was the sub (half for lunch, the rest for dinner). I'm still getting over it. I've been defending Subway on here for years, but I am DONE with them now.

You can transfer the balances through the subway app alot easier. Takes seconds to do.

Thank you for posting this!....
I tried the original codes and they didn't work.
Then found this....new codes work fine (I only tested "699FORFTL and "1299FOR2").
As usual, most franchises reject these codes, but I tested them at one that always has accepted them.

.....but at least they now provide a clear list of the franchises that accept them (based on the zip code).
The newly updated app sucks in general!.... but this is one thing that they improved upon.
