The Samsung HW-Q600F and Samsung HW-B73CD belong to different tiers of Samsung's audio lineup. The Q-Series (Q600F) is positioned as a higher-end, premium performance line, while the B-Series (B73CD) is an entry-level to mid-range series focused on affordability and general home audio.
Quick ComparisonThe primary difference lies in their sound technology and channel configuration. The HW-Q600F includes up-firing drivers for a true 3.1.2 channel Dolby Atmos experience, whereas the HW-B73CD relies on virtual surround sound without dedicated height channels.Samsung HW-Q600F 3.1.2 Channel Soundbar Opens in a new window Samsung HW-B73CD 5.1 Channel Soundbar Opens in a new window $699.99Samsung 4.8 (3k+) Opens in a new window $249.00Samsung 4.6 (131) Opens in a new window Channel ConfigurationChannel Configuration3.1.2 ChannelChannel Configuration5.1 ChannelDolby Atmos SupportDolby Atmos SupportYesDolby Atmos SupportNoHeight ChannelsHeight ChannelsYes (Up-firing)Height ChannelsNoBest ForBest ForImmersive 3D/Atmos contentBest ForGeneral TV and movie audioKey TakeawaysImmersive Sound: The HW-Q600F features up-firing speakers designed to reflect sound off the ceiling, creating an overhead "3D" audio effect. This makes it significantly better for watching content with Dolby Atmos, such as modern action movies or high-budget series on streaming platforms.Audio Quality: Reviews generally favor the Q-Series for its balanced performance and clearer dialogue compared to the B-Series. The HW-B73CD is often described as a basic upgrade over built-in TV speakers, but some users have noted its sound can feel "flat" or lack the depth and precision of the higher-tier Q models.Which to choose: If your budget allows, the HW-Q600F is generally considered the better investment for home theater enthusiasts who want a more cinematic, immersive experience. The HW-B73CD may suffice if you are primarily looking for a simple, low-cost way to improve your TV's audio without the need for height effects or advanced surround formats.

$199 is the lowest I've seen.
3.1.2ch (3 front and surround channels, 1 subwoofer channel, 2 up-firing channels). A wireless subwoofer included.
