Buy an actual book that you will own. For free you can check out this book from the local library on your ereader. No reason to give amazon money when they will just brick your device at some point.

One might argue that getting this for $2 is cheaper than driving to the library and back twice. But yeah, Im still bitter about my old kindle (that i didnt use) getting squashed.

You don't need to drive anywhere to check out an ebook from your library. You can use the Libby app.

Yes, I drive a lot for work, so I used the Libby app and listened to the 3 books on audiobook for free.
