Pocket hole screwheads for wood cabinetry almost always use a Square (Robertson) or Torx drive.

Screws that secure electrical wire to the circuit breaker, the neutral bus bar, the ground bus bar, and electrical circuit breaker panel cover nearly always use a hybrid Robertson/flat-blade head.

I wish they would eliminate the standard flat slot head and perhaps the square head as I really don't see much use for them. I would slather have more Philips bit tips included!

Square is still slightly common in decking screws but I agree that flathead is useless.

Yeah that's the only thing I could think of using the square tips also ie decking screws. I can't think of anything that I deal with regularly that uses slot screws. They are extinct and I wish these kits would realize that and give us more ph2 Philips.

In fairness, you did say something like "in your experience." And that kind of awareness is sorely lacking from what I see on the internet. Frown

Now, I have to get ready to install an electrical panel in a little building that we just built.

I still use flathead (set screws, electrical faceplates, prying), but definitely not on anything you'd need a drill for. That would be horrible.

You're not wrong, but pocket holes typically require longer bits though. I don't think you can use these bets for most oocket screws

I think there should be community trade off for bits. We buy 20-30 and only use onetime.

I have 4-5 sets of different types. They are unused fir years

I agree. You do need the long bit for pocket holes.

But pocket hole screws are used for a lot of other things. I prefer to use them for when a washer under the screw head might come in handy. If you take a look at "production wood screws," you might get a feel for where you could use them. They just work better when you are using a power driver. They work better if you plan on disassembling, too.
