The batteries are so expensive normally that deals like this are worth looking for.

damn, i didn't even know they had a 12a hyper charger. but that's only for the 18v port apparently. the 40v port is a 6a rapid charger.

Typically, I stay away from any sort of fast/ rapid battery charger. For this price point, you can usually get some sort of 40v battery, charger, trimmer or blower kit -- no 18v stuff, but those deal are readily available. Also, HD has a 40V Lithium-Ion (2) 4.0 Ah Battery/4A Fast Charger Starter Kit for $199.

I tried to find a way to do that in the past but could never find Home Depot link or connection on the exchange site.

Does that mean the 40v works with 18v tools? I'm cornfused. If not, who exactly is this marketed to? People with a mix of 40v/18v Ryobi tools?

It's like getting a free 18v battery (good one) and the best charger with the purchase of a 40v battery. Not terrible if you're in both lineups and a lot of people are.

40v for yard tools, 18v for hand tools. can't imagine drilling holes with 40v weight. 🫪🤪😱💪🏻

How so? These are the two most common battery capacities. The dual charger is good for folks who have both systems. This is the least weird combo possible

I gotta say...

Props to Ryobi for keeping their promise (back in the 90's?!) to not change 18v battery form factor regardless of chemistry used. Thank you Ryobi!

The batteries are always on sale. That's how they hook you. It's the tools that are overpriced. Personally I do not buy batteries anymore. I buy tools and they almost always include a free battery.

Batteries can be cheaper. Combo isn't helpful
