yeah I'm tried of these weak $10 deals.
We started with $20 gift cards with a $100 GC back in the day, then to $15, now $10.

I haven't done this at Target, because of the fraud that seemed to affect them more than other retailers (e.g., Best Buy). Since my account has a Circle Rewards that I could fulfill with this gift card purchas, I'm considering doing it at Target this time. Has the situation (i.e., Apple Gift cards getting redeemed by the crooks shortly after activation) improved recently?
I'd recommend starting off online with these purchases and only resorting to in-store purchases unless your Target keeps a stock of Apple gift cards behind the customer service counter, fully out of reach from anyone except staff. Electronic gift cards' codes and PINs are assigned and the balances are loaded as soon as your order goes through, so e-gift cards are pretty much tamper-proof. Meanwhile, physical Apple gift cards have picked up a decent bit of media attention for this exact reason – the packaging is designed to be as tamper-proof as possible, but scammers are bypassing that anyway and doing so in a way that makes the tampering undetectable until you break open the packaging and try to redeem the code that has been altered.
Circle offers will hard-limit you to one $10 Target gift card per order, but placing multiple orders back-to-back (it's best to wait for the Apple gift card from order #1 to be delivered to your inbox, then loading the $10 Target gift card to your account before you attempt order #2, and so on) can often get you to 2 or 3 before Target starts canceling orders on you.
Side note: if a Target offer like this is explicitly labeled as a "Circle" offer, then it requires a Circle account and a login to use, and thus makes quantity/order limits much easier to enforce. There have been a few gift card deals I've posted in the past, including one from this week that expires today (https://slickdeals.net/f/19596804-50-google-play-egift-card-5-target-egift-card-email-delivery-50), that are not Circle offers, and can apparently be bought in guest checkout with the resulting bonus Target gift card getting sent to your email, but not automatically getting locked to your account.
If the deal text on the product page is red, it's not a Circle offer. If it's teal-colored with a small tag image before the text, it is a Circle offer.

I think this has been mentioned on SD before, but I redeemed a gift card to my Apple balance earlier this week. I got a pop up for two free months of Apple TV for redeeming the card, but I had to do it on the spot. It said something like the offer would not be available later.

BEWARE! Bought over $1000 worth of gift cards last time and they got flagged as fraud and I was unable to use them. Took countless letters, emails, and phone calls over 4 months to finally get refunded. Was ready to take it to small claims court. Also, do NOT use Target credit card to buy it. They will not help if you need to dispute it even if you carefully document it all and provide proof. They are obviously incentivized to side with Target on any dispute.
