255H is arrowlake not lunar lake, not for AI or battery life. honestly not for anything, except running multiple vms. my meta now is optimize for portability on laptop (battery life, weight) and just use cloud/ssh into your desktop.

This CPU has one of the best integrated GPUs. Unless you need pinnacle performance gaming, this is a great compromise on weight, cost and performance. My 16yo love his laptop with the more power-efficient 258V CPU. This one is more powerful, but itsn't quite as flexible due to the higher power draw of the 255H. But we're still talking 6+ hours battery life unless you're gaming.

In mid 2026, with OLED, 32GB of ram and a 1TB nvme, this is hard to beat at < $800 for a like-new open box.

Grabbed the fair condition at $789 and it's a fantastic laptop for the price. Not sure you can get much better considering you get 32GB RAM,1TB SSD and 120hz OLED

bought it and realized my mistake, it doesnt have proper action row. they copied older macbooks in the worst way possible. no esc button is diabolocial and pure deaf tone stupidity. I am pretty sure most of Dell leadership who made those decisions use mac anyway. I am annoyed because this laptop is great in most ways

Picked mine up last night for $711. Not a scratch or dent on it. Loving it so far. And the battery only had 3 cycles!

What do mean no esc? The entire action row is lit up and if you hold the fn key all of the f's are there. Doing a quick search it appears maybe that can be disabled in the bios. IDK

Also I first did all of the windows updates and then went to dell's site and let it detect the pc and search for updates, of which there were I think 3 more. Also, the latest bios update is 1.10.0 You can check that with cpu-z

I thought I would hate the lack of physical keys . I tend to jump back and forth from function to hot keys. In a way, I find it okay as at any given time I knew what the key will do besides having to guess. I wish they had haptic feedback
I have a Dell xps 15 9520. It's running great but I picked this one up last week (open box -good at $934). I'm actually impressed by it. My 15 is more powerful but far more powerful hungry which hurts its portability.
In my assessment to see how "used" it is, I was not able to determine how many hours are on the oled. The battery capacity is 96% of total capacity and smart data on the ssd had less than 250 hours of power on time.

Comparing laptops , some reason the 14 keyboard is as big as my 15 keyboard. They change in key style takes getting used to. Touchpad is superior on the 14. 14 had a higher refresh rate. Only 1 ssd slot so no cheap 2nd ssd for me.

Seems like a decent deal considering junk 8gb laptops are going for like $350-$400

ESC is the escape key, i use that key dozen times. i also code so F keys are important, no tactile feedback when you press them as well making my experience a lot worse. battery life is below average (for a premium laptop) it is too heavy and still mid range battery

I think the only way you can get a better deal is buying second-hand from Marketplace, if you're lucky. I just got one now, might return it if the person I want to give it to doesn't want it. There is some availability in MA (Framingham, Watertown when I checked had one or two).
