This 65 inch TCL QM6K is a mini LED 4K Google TV that stands out for strong picture quality and smooth everyday use at around $500. The set is described as bright enough for a well lit room, with low gaming lag and a Google TV interface that feels responsive. Costco and Sam's Club are repeatedly tied to the same price, but Costco is linked to a better return policy and a 5 year warranty, while the screen can be pretty reflective in direct sunlight. A solid value if your room lighting is manageable.
Living-room gamers who want a bright mini-LED panel, because it shows no noticeable lag and stays visible in a well-lit room.
Bedroom TV upgraders who want strong picture quality for around $500, because the image impressed at that price and the interface feels smooth.
Cord-cutters watching soccer on antenna, because the TV can switch to OTA after startup and works fine for live sports viewing.
Shoppers comparing alternatives on warranty coverage, because the same TV is available elsewhere with a longer warranty and better return policy.
Bright-room viewers facing direct sunshine, because the screen is pretty reflective and can struggle with sunlight.
People who want a TV that lands straight on antenna channels at startup, because it powers on to the home screen and requires selecting OTA each time.

My 8yo TCL 6 just died, won't even reset now.. down to my Bravia OLED. My Hisense 58" is in the shed.
I might want to see how Prime Day goes. reddit said you can pay the 5% extra at Costco for non members.
Love Google TV built in.

I actually bought two of these on Memorial Day, they were marked down to $600 so with the Direct savings I paid $550 apiece and I have been very satisfied with the purchase. This deal would have saved me another $140! Of course most people don't need two 65" televisions but these televisions are working very well for me so far. I do play video games--no noticeable lag. They are pretty reflective so you will not want light shining directly onto them, but otherwise they are plenty bright for visibility in a well-lit room.
Initial feedback on the web says that Google OS kind of sucks with antenna channels, hard to isolate, and worthless program guides.
Anyone have direct experience that supports or contradicts? The price point is good, and I'm in the market....

I'm still in the market though, I have a bright room so was concerned about reflections. Both the Sony and Hisense are struggling with direct sunshine. This deal might not cut it because of that. Swapping in the Hisense bought me a little time while I shop around for " a deal I can't refuse" -

Not sure if there's a setting for it, but powering on always goes to the home screen so having to select OTA every time may suck. But that's no different to having to select an app every time (like Netflix or PLEX).
