Tool many counterfeit phone on ebay nowadays. I bought one S23 ultra new there, the Sim is not even matching the box one.

Community Reviews

The refurbished Galaxy S23 Ultra stands out for its flagship hardware, especially the 512GB model with 12GB of RAM, the built in Bluetooth S Pen, and a camera system that still gets praise for sharp shots and exceptional 10x zoom. The phone is also described as feeling like new in hand, with strong overall performance and a U.S. unlocked version that uses one physical nano SIM plus eSIM. The main cautions are shorter remaining software support, possible battery wear, and refurb quality that can vary, including reports of non OEM parts or mismatched screens. A strong feature set, but the remaining support window and refurb condition deserve a close look.

This is a different seller with not enough reputation and the price is too good to be true.
I never said it was the same seller. But even if it's refurbished excellent, it's a good price. If it's a fake, ebay has pretty good protection policies so you'll get refunded

Refurb phones are a roll of a dice. Be prepared to make a return.

Phones and monitors are things I swear I will never buy refurb again.

Rolled the dice hoping for a fresh battery but it looks like this seller is a Chinese company so now I'm not so hopeful that this is not a fake.

I was scammed on a nib pixel 8. Screen died on the first and replacement after a week. eBay seller Chinese out of Texas. They use multiple accounts.. I just avoid tx sellers now

Definitely fake. New S23 Ultras are not shrinkwrapped in plastic. You see a lot of similar listings on FB marketplace.

Is there any way to tell if a phone being sold as new sealed in box has been Frankensteined?

Isnt it possible for Ebay Refurbished seal phones to also have aftermarket parts?

If they're using non-OEM parts and didn't specify it in the listing, you can file a return.

I see. But how would we know that without opening up the phone? Generally, we would only find that out if the phone goes bad and we take it in for repair.

Good deal, BUT Software updates and Security Updates will end soon for this model. You can find a s24 plus for around this price or $50 more for longer software/security support and great speed.Camera on the S23 Ultra is good though, comparable to the iPhone 14 Pro but way more Zoom.
Realistically, what do people want security updates for? Are they afraid their phone will get a virus?
