This is high performance quartz; and the chrono moves at 4Hz. Being a space watch, it's built to be as accurate as possible, only slipping +/- 10 seconds per year.

So yeah, it's quartz, but it's high-end quartz.

I don't know a ton about watches but if this is accurate to the degree you guys are saying... wow. I've got an Omega that loses 10+ seconds a day even after factory service. But then it's so beautiful I don't mind. Much.

This. I repair watches and I absolutely love this watch and the history. But, I was so bummed when I put one on. 😭 The lug-to-lug is so long that it overhangs by small wrist. But, I love this watch so much it's probably one I would still buy just to own it. lol.
