If this is your first guitar, I implore you to buy something a little nicer. Nothing kills the excitement of learning an instrument faster than a poorly made one.

I would tend to agree.

Cheap guitars, somewhat surprisingly, are more of a thing for experienced guitarists. Those that know how to setup and tweak things to their own desire. And almost all cheap guitars will need a basic setup. Although it's not hard to do, and all the info is available on myriad youtube videos.

Exactly. I have the tools to dress a cheapo guitar. Most beginners just want to play. My general recommendation at this point is a used or clearance classic vibe if you're really deal hunting.
