there's an opensource app called Shizuku which can do root stuff on phones that are not rooted
it will allow you to see and disable apps that should not be running

The issue is mainly 4gb RAM, it just not enough to run a modern Android device and that weak processor aint helping either

it's possible some people had returns or something weird going on where the SIM was no longer tied to the year of service

What about your minutes, texts and data, did you loose any? The quote below shows that these may all wiped out.
"I think unlimited talk + text + 1GB data is for 1 month only, that's their $15 monthly plan. Last year, when my service was almost expired but there was no good phone on sale at that time, I bought this $15 plan hoping it would extend my service and it did, but all of my remaining minutes, texts and data that I stacked for years were wiped out. Contacted customer service and they couldn't do anything about it. They said I could either continue paying $15 monthly, or buy a new yearly paygo plan to replace, but the lost balance was gone forever."

however under the phone info menu in android 14, it lists SIM-1 and SIM-2
The phone gets noticeably faster after about 3-4 days of use after all updates and the background stuff from the initial setup finishes. Turning off RAM Plus will also make the phone feel faster since it prevents memory used by background apps from getting sent to slow internal storage (at the cost of the OS closing background apps more often). It's still not fast by any means but good enough for daily use like messaging apps and maps.
There have been at least 2 previous deals for this same renewed model at Amazon so should be plenty of comments on SD. Phone is slow even after removal of junk, good for basics only (or harvesting of service).
because it's android 14 it can start without connected to a host
AND both Shizuku tools and FreezeYou can run to DEBLOAT all the stupid carrier apps
just uninstalled the moronic tracfone "Device Pulse" and 1Weather
