$170 for just the compressor/tank is only for people shopping with soon-to-expire gift cards. Personally, I prefer the higher-quality and much quieter California Air Tools versions. I do have a 6gallon pancake compressor, but normally use this one, https://www.homedepot.c
It might be worth buying this model for $20 less if you need one now and don't already own a hose or attachments.
