Despite what phone snobs like to say about Motorola phones I've found them to be solid phones for cheap.

I have this phone, but I bought it refurbished from Ebay for about $100. Personally, I like this phone--battery life is great and functionality is great. Is it the very best camera on the planet? No, but I don't need that. Its very good quality, especially for the cost. This is a great affordable choice.

I got this phone but locked to Straight Talk for about $30. It works on Visible anyway, so it works for me. The CPU is pretty weak - hence the good battery life. But it has one HUGE advantage over the 2024 version IMHO. It does Motorola Smart Connect. It's wireless only (only has USB-C 2.0), but works very well.

I have had a great experience with my Motorola phone (my model is Motorola Moto G Stylus 2022). Don't feel like upgrading to a newer model yet but I highly recommend Motorola for someone who wants a cheap but very good phone. I'll continue buying Motorola when I need to upgrade

how much longer will this get security and Android updates?

My Moto One 5G Ace does not update anymore and apps keep saying that the newer version is not compatible with my current Android 11 that is on that phone. Besides some of the apps not updating (thus not working because they don't let me use the older version) the phone works fine for what it is.

I'm getting tired of this smartphone culture

I have a Moto and three Samsungs. If outside, I use the Samsung. For everyday use, I tend to use the Moto. I concur that the Moto gets the job done. My next phone will not be a new Samsung. The value for the money is not there.

moto isn't worth the cost for only 1 year of os updates and 3 years of security updates with an outdated OS.

Love Motorola, fast charging and clean os. I had a ThinkPhone by them which was decent. But the power button broke on it. 68W PD was nice

When you get the Tracfone version of Motorola, it's not clean at all. Loats of bloatware that is difficult to remove.

See if the bootloader is unlockable, and load LINEAGE on it, you'll be happy. (make sure you have the correct model) maybe this: https://wiki.lineageos.org/device.../variant2/

Am I missing something or is the 2024 version for $90 less a better deal?

When did you get yours? I got mine for $40 back in 2024 and got it unlocked after 60 days.
