Add the "RYOBI ONE+ 18V HIGH PERFORMANCE Lithium-​Ion 4.​0 Ah Battery (2-​Pack)​" as the free item, and then hack it by selecting different pickup locations.

There is no need to return anything. Select the best pickup location for the item you want to keep, and then select another pickup location for the item you don't want to keep. Go pick up the item you want to keep and then cancel the other item from the other pickup location. And if you can't cancel the other item, just don't pick up and they will cancel it for you after a week or so. You never have to return anything.

I see the same thing. They provided some "steps" to maybe get it down to this price? Seems like YMMV and not worth the hassle personally.

Standard hack deal. Not sure why it's marked as expired. Add the two batteries for $229 then return them. These work just fine so really up to the buyer. Not a "YMMV" really, though some report getting banned (I suspect they abused it). Personally, I've "hacked" $1000's worth in the past year with no issues

Agree and Same. I'm like, "what are these guys doing to get banned?" lol. I'm sure way too many returns.

So the hack is, I can return either or, without retuning the other?

Correct. When you add both to the cart, the individual price will be reduced. Just take one back and keep the other. One thing I do when I get the items is to *not open either.* If I get rejected on the partial return (happened once), I can just return both. Usually, though, you can just wait a day or two or go to a different location for the partial return.

Can't select different pickup locations: In the cart, I get the message that the pickup location must be the same for both items. I'm getting them shipped anyway - HD is too far away - but it shouldn't be a problem to return the items I don't want to keep (2 battery pack) and keep the 3-battery pack... I think!

I was able to set different pick-up locations.

However, what I wasn't able to do was to have one be shipped to me, and the other be pick-up.
