I play only in this tourney. I won't touch online poker otherwise. Not with a 10 foot pole. I don't trust it. I don't necessarily think they are cheaters. But, I have always felt that it was rigged for drama. I could be wrong. But, that's how I see it. We already know that it doesn't mimic a live deck which adds to my distrust of the game.

Call me a skeptic, but how we we already know this? I didn't realize that it was open source. If it was, I'd certainly take a look at their algorithm.

Now, the geek in me will come out. Sure, the card that's chosen may be random (based on a seen, which is tied to the time), so let's call it pseudo-random. It's like constantly shuffling the cards. This doesn't change the odds that you'll get your two-outter. It only affects WHEN, that will happen (sometimes the 'shuffling' will benefit you, other times it won't)

I don't believe that there is a weighted randomness to online poker.

If I were to write a program I would simply shuffle the cards once and then deal them out.

On a side note, do we know how Vec and his family are doing? I did not look for any threads about it. Hopefully they are ok.

They have openly admitted that it's a random card generator that scrambles the cards upon every piece of action. I just don't think it would be that much to ask to have them shuffle once and then leave it alone. I don't see the logic in this. I want it to mimic live poker as much as possible.

that's a good point, but i'd research why they are doing this way...there must be a specific reason for it

Theoretically if someone has admin rights on a site without the RNG the way it is now, they could see the next card. The way it is now with the constant shuffle, there is no way anyone could know. That's my guess anyway...

Are we doing a tourney this week? Or still sticking to the once per month thing?

We agreed to a once per month thing because the weekly thing turned out to be too much the last time.
