This GarveeHome 12,000 BTU mini split stands out as a low cost way to add both cooling and heat, with strong efficiency compared with window units and quiet operation. The comments also point to easy DIY installation for handy buyers, and the included line set and precharged setup help keep the job straightforward. The main cautions are that it is not WiFi, the electrical work still needs care, and the listing appears to have shifted from SEER 19 to SEER2 17. It looks best for a garage, shed, or room where 230V power is already available.

  • DIY installation can be completed quickly when mounting hardware and pipe connections are handled carefully.

  • The 120V version can be practical for garages because it may cool effectively while drawing relatively modest power.

  • Mini-splits can remove humidity while cooling, which can improve comfort compared with window units.

  • Some installs report quiet operation and effective cooling of large garage spaces after setup.

  • The unit may not include native WiFi, which can matter for shoppers wanting app-based control.

  • Installation can require extra electrical and permitting steps that raise total costs beyond simple DIY expectations.

  • Vacuuming and line-set handling steps can be a concern, with some guidance questioning whether skipping vacuuming is safe.

  • Support and replacement experiences can be unreliable when a compressor arrives damaged, which can delay getting a second system running.

Thanks for the helpful advice! I'll get a 120v unit for easier installation and hopefully be able to do it myself (after watching a bunch of YouTube's). Is the plan doable or wishful thinking?
120 or 230 really doesn't matter. I ran a 12/2 Romex run and a 15a double pole breaker for 230V. YouTube is your friend. Only regret is I did not do sooner

Edit for typo and add a link to watch. Best one I saw.

The camper part is meaningless. He asked if this can be used in a small camper, that's all. Even with you blindly assuming that he will be in some kind of specific camping 'facility' along with you wrongly assuming that all camping facilities/grounds have 50 amp hookups (they don't, as many/most have 15amp or 30 amp hookups).

The point is... all he said was can it be used in "a small camper". No matter whether this mini-split is installed in a small camper, or a monstrous size camper, a house trailer, or apartment, or home... it STILL only requires less than a 20 amp circuit/breaker.
By you telling him he needs to find a 50 amp hookup shows you are very misguided.
If you have to butter your ego to laughably say "you failed" to me, when it's you that doesn't know electrical requirements and proper hookups, says it all.
nah, see, you made a fool out of yourself in your previous post, now you're backpedaling and doubling down.

The built-in WiFi in my old mrcool was trash. The sensibo system I use to automate all 6 of my analog AUX units is excellent. I would recommend going with an analog unit and getting sensibo if the unit is going to cost $100 less than a native wifi one and you need multiple units.
I second Sensibo if anyone is not tech savvy. If you are, go with Giingham's comment and go with the esp32 device. It actually isn't hard to go that route.

Be specific and detailed where you think I'm wrong. You can't. Lol
Aside from you 'still' not getting it, your reply shows how you're even more clueless about electrical circuitry than I ever imagined.
Guess what happens to any appliance if it should happen to short out or overload, when its rated for 15-20 amps, and you connect to a 50 amp breaker/circuit. Have fun, fireball.

Impressive. I'll be happy to finish it in a few hours with a $200 spend on an extra set of handy hands for help.

Window air conditioner is a huge electric user especially during summer when they are charging for over consumption. These splits use 1/5th or less than those plus remove gallons of humidity from the air. No comparison if you understand them fully.
Newer unit like ge clearview has inverter too. Plenty YouTube efficiency review, cooling a average room is around 500w in afternoon heat.

Just wondering if all these random name units are either rebranded Gree, Midea, Haier or something else? Reason I ask is I need to know if the remote codes are common with these brands, so I can use my Good old Honeywell wifi connected minisplit IR blaster to control these units. I use these to control my Pioneer units with some success.
Those not brand mostly manufactured by "Gree" with cheaper parts.

AUX is a largest OEM AC supply in China(world)
Believe that title belongs to Gree. But these are made by AUX. I would consider them 3rd tier compared to Gree or Midea.

My friend in Paris paid ~200 euro to install ac unit in his apartment on 5th floor. Which is way more complex than in 1 or 2 level compressed wood saw dust US home that can be punched with a finger.
Not sure why here in the US they charge thousands of $ for that..
Because they can, and because people pay it.

You actually overestimated how much the rest of the world is paying for mini split ac installation
I was going to say, in many Asian countries the install comes free with the AC purchase.

In significantly more expensive Hong Kong, I see installs start at $160USD
