100%.... $840 for a thin phone with a gimped camera, gimped battery, gimped speakers and gimped thermals? Apple cutting its production from lack of consumer interest tells you everything you need to know.
The iPhone Air stands out as a very thin, light unlocked iPhone with a big screen, strong battery life for its size, and a premium feel. The design gets the most praise, along with durability and day to day comfort, and the 12 gigabyte memory is tied to full Siri AI support in one comment. The main trade offs are the single camera, weaker speakers, and thinner chassis limits on thermals and audio. Marketplace seller listings and cheaper refurb or open box options around the mid 600s to 800s are also part of the discussion, making this a niche pick for thinness first.
Travelers who want a slim phone for daily carry, because it feels easy to hold and still has battery life that holds up well.
Heavy readers and media viewers who want a large screen in a light handset, because it feels much bigger than older iPhones without adding much weight.
It can be a reasonable unlocked buy if you want this model now, especially with comments expecting Apple prices to rise soon. But there are cheaper alternatives mentioned, including refurb and open-box units around $645-$800.
Yes, it can be solid for daily use. Several comments describe the battery as decent or comparable to smaller iPhones up through the 17, and one long-term user says it lasts well enough to charge nightly.
They can be fine for casual use, but the thin design limits audio hardware. One comment says the speakers crackle at medium-to-max volume on many contents, while another says the speaker is a non-issue for everyday use.
I went for a refurb. 100% battery health and 5 charge cycles.
Coming from a 15 PM, I like it so far. Much more premium feel. So far the speaker seems like a non issue. For me the camera is also a non issue since I seldom used the extra lenses. We will see on battery life
Arrived. Unlocked. 100% battery. Basically like new.

You guys inspired me to get a refurb from BB, got the blue for $649... arrived today, only 2 battery cycles... so basically brand new. Amazing light phone with huge screen compared to my old 16.
They have the black one now for even cheaper at $645. Absolute steal for that price.

For some buyers, yes. The Air has only one rear camera, which is a major trade-off if you want the extra lenses found on Pro models or the iPhone 17.

No. The listing is sold by marketplace sellers rather than Best Buy directly, so it's worth checking seller details before buying.
