The TCL Q77K (which Costco lists 85" for $700) is a low end TV. I just realized this one is the Q651G and not the Q650G and therefore is only slightly better overall offering better contrast and brightness. Initially I accidentally read rtings professional review for Q650G (Q6 series as well) which scores even better across multiple categories including smooth motion handling, brighter, and better contrast. So it's a small step up but sadly not as large a step as the Q650G. For people looking for 85" TV it's nearly impossible to get a high end (or even mid-end picture quality) without paying quite a bit more than the 77" market.

I haven't kept up with TVs in past few years. How does this compare to an LG OLED? Obviously an 83" LG is 2500 but curious if this punches way above its weight and a negligible difference?

This TV is terrible compared to an LG OLED (or many other OLEDs). OLEDs light up each of their 8.3 million pixels individually meaning they have perfect contrast and perfect color accuracy. This TV is also on the low end in terms of picture quality meaning LG OLEDs (including cheaper B series) have better motion smoothing and better image upscaling. The only weakness OLEDs have is their maximum brightness is lower than some competitors, but this particular model does worse in that area as well. OLEDs do perfectly in a dark and moderately lit room, but suffer from glare in a brightly lit up room or if sunlight directly hits the screen. This TV is not the solution for an extremely bright room anyway though. LG OLEDs (and many top competitors) also have less than 1% negative feedback showing major breakdowns while this TV has over 4% (which is still much better than many). So OLEDs will VERY likely last you several years and while OLED technology's lifespan is shorter than other technologies, it should still give you several years of stunning picture quality. There are only two major disadvantages with top OLED competitors (LG being the best choice in my opinion). The first is price as you mentioned. 83" cost an arm and a leg. 77" for the first time, just had a $1085 sale on the Samsung S90F 77" and $1583 on the LG C5 77" (and those sales were FAST). The other disadvantage is once you see how beautiful OLEDs are, it's impossible to go back. You can see all the details in actor's eyes, skin, the background, and everything making it all feel so real and the colors are so vibrant. For people who have never compared the technologies or read extremely detailed reviews (rtings is the best. Whathifi sometimes is okay), they can stick with normal TVs which still do a good enough job until you've seen OLED.
