All of these deals require me to add a new line, no thanks.
Locked down carrier handsets are for the insane and/or misinformed, myself included for a long time in the latter. They are a ripoff at any price, including free. First the ODM strips out a bunch of security features so they can add their spyware bloatware. Then off to the carrier where they remove even more security, add even more bloatware, and disable everything they can later charge you to re-enable. There is no daylight between the plumber and your carrier and their devices. There's no logic, either. Because yesterday you were strangling the plumber, today you're in line to pay him a large amount of money.
Want to know why the world is upside down and on fire right now? It's because of our willingness to roll over for anything, no matter how egregious, to trade anything, no matter how valuable, to keep the dopamine blasts coming. You like dopamine? Go to the doctor and get on one of the dozens of dopamine agonists. They're an order of magnitude less costly. Or don't. Tell yourself I'm the crazy one and carry on. Until one random Tuesday where you think your a/c has broken down. It hasn't. That's just warmth from the fire that has now reached your own doorstep.
I have Visible Pro with a $10 month discount so $35 a month. Includes watch plan, global passes, tethering etc. Any Slickdealer should now how to get ref credits, so essentially been paying $15 a month. I will get my expensive phone other ways.
