Understand that it costs them nothing to keep you as a loyal customer, so bury the knife to the hilt in them.

I got a two year 1.5 gig download contract, unlimited data PLUS a guaranteed static IP (T-mobile uses godawful CGNAT) which is important because I host servers, reverse proxy, etc., and I can cancel anytime for $65 incl. tax per month.

Use this power wisely SD'ers! Remember you know them nothing but contempt.

this was thing since the 90's, at least from my experience. My dad was doing that stuff on the phone. I know he didn't come up with that on his own. He probably learned it from his coworker. It doesn't always work, because retentions is also limited. The key is to actually getting retention in the united states, not someone from the philippines (no offense). The ppl in the states have more access to tools. But u seriously got 1.5 Gb for $65!? what state r u in? Also that unlimited data is only for 1 year right? guaranteed static IP is insane too, because I know xfinity is known for rotating IP after their like 2-3AM network maintenance. Did u ask for static IP? never thought to ask that.

Last time this deal was offered (2-3 months ago). I a current xfinfinty customer clicked the link, clicked NEW customer, didnt sign in but used the same email and registered for this deal. The 2 accounts shown with the new one set to start a few days later (on purpose). Before I could call the next day, Xfinity (shocker) called me noticing to accounts and offered to cancel the old one. of course YMMV

Run. Far away. Their customer service is god awful and they don't uphold what they commit to.
And FYI they piggyback mobile service from another provider bc they do not offer standalone mobile service. Hence the tie in for the mobile line

With Xfinity since 2022 and currently having 1 year gig plan with monthly payment of $50 upto sept 2026. Called this number 888 934 6489 and they updated my plan to $50/5 years

One of the worst companies out there. I canceled my plan of 12 years and signed my wife up for the gig plan and got a veesee box. They owed me $246 dollars for the balance of my plan. Turned my TV box in on June 4 and canceled my plan. Three weeks later I called about the balance that was to come to the house via a check. Their response...your account is still active and hasn't been canceled. Tried again and even called back in immediately after to confirm with another agent to double confirm. They said, yes, it had been canceled. Fast forward 2 more weeks and nothing. Called again and they said something must have happened, and that the account still wasn't canceled. This time I got an email about sorry to see you go....yes!! Called this week and they said nothing is owed back to me since it is August, and actually, I owe $26 dollars. Told them to f off and I'm not paying then a penny more. I ended up getting $.06 direct deposit to my checking account. Word of advice it you cancele and open another account, keep track of everything. The only thing that saved me is that I kept my receipt from turning in my equipment. Filed a ECM and was told by a supervisor that the $246 was approved and and that I should be getting a check I 7 to 10 business days. We'll see...follow these guys. Hate that I still do business with them, but $50 for a gb service is pretty sweet.

I upgraded an existing Internet only plan to 500 Mbps for 1 year at $45/mo through the Xfinity app. Will check again in 1 year or cancel then.

So I got this deal last month as an existing customer.

Here is my experience. After trying to get it through talking to agents via online and then calling they wouldn't do it. I saw mixed info online about needing to cancel for 90 days to be considered a "New Customer" but I also saw people claiming it works immediately after cancellation.

So I decided to give cancellation a try. If it didn't work out I was prepared to sign up and use T-Mobile Internet for 90 days.

I brought my modem to an Xfinity store and said I'd like to cancel. They processed the cancellation. I log in to my Xfinity and it confirms I am no longer a customer. Literally in the parking lot , I sign up as a new customer. The app even says "We recognize this name as previously having an Xfinity account. Would you like to merge your old account settings and email address ?" Voila $50 for 5 years about 5 minutes after cancellation.

Can also create a new account under the name of another person at the same address (even if payment methods are identical). I just swapped from my name to my spouse....easy. just make sure you know when your current cycle ends to avoid overlap and wasted $$.

It is NOT necessary to add cell service.

I have 2gb/$100. I guess I'll downgrade to 1gb and see how that works out. if it does I save $50 towards hookers and blow

Just use a 2nd email and phone at same address. so it shows as adding an additional account at existing customer address. use app to login and setup new account and modem, once working, take old modem to store and cancel 1st account out, or do it online. just need 2 emails and 2 phones. once established you can change the email and phone of 2nd account to be the old one. have done it twice now.

Thank you. I'm not a native English speaker, but you pointed out what I was trying to say. The coaxial cable runs into my house, and I get 1G symmetrical download and upload speeds. I was surprised, but after Googling it and having the technician explain that it was fiber over coax using their new technology, not fully understand it but it is something like fiber over coax. I'm not sure why they don't believe that Xfinity offers plans with symmetrical upload speeds. Regardless of what fancy technologies they use, shouldn't we focus on the actual speeds in the first place? Plus, newer homes are more likely to get symmetrical speeds from Xfinity.
