Wow they must really be feeling the pain from the whole ad-ware scandal. Usually it's the 704 model that they'd have at this price, with the 700 model being almost $100 more.

Yes, this is absolutely the right answer.

I disconnected my LG TV long ago and after seeing the malware scandal I went a step further and put a network block in OPNsense on my LG TV.
I will never, ever purchase an LG monitor or TV again. They've lost my trust.

For those who can take measures to deal with privacy/adware crap, this is a good deal. If you don't know, it uses a RGB Tandem OLED panel. So it gets a nice bit brighter and has more color range than previous OLED generations.

Extremely good deal but clearly in response to their spyware scandal. I'm going to bite but I disabled auto installs/updates by Windows for third parties in the policy manager.

I don't even let my tvs talk to the internet after my appletv remote was destroyed by the dog, so I switched to using the tvs Roku, found it was not on the internet, connected it, it forced updates I could not prevent, then the Roku tv became very laggy and ceased auto starting on hdmi input (when I got a new appletv).

These built-in streaming systems are trash and they pseudo-brick them to encourage new purchases.

Talking to support got me 10% off so the total is $360 which is crazy for a monitor like this. Just make sure to disable Windows auto installs/updates for third parties in the policy manager and you won't have to deal with the malware issues.

All this misguided outrage should be directed towards Microsoft for allowing such a vulnerability. LG isn't the first and it won't be the last to install unwanted software. Razer and logitech do it all the time.

Also McAfee is literally anti-spyware anti-virus so yall are parroting the wrong buzzwords on reddit

This looks like the same model that the LG site sold for 399 several months ago but then canceled orders claiming it was a 'price mistake'. They even made their shipping company return the units that accidentally shipped.

My order was canceled and my refund was not issued for over 3 weeks. Now they're trying to sell it at the same price. What a joke. Not buying LG.
