You're basically buying into a dead ecosystem, hence the deep discount you often see on the Cube 2000 and sometimes on the Cube 1000. The Cube 1000 is just the base 1 kW power station by itself, while the Cube 2000 is the base power station with 1 expansion module. In theory, you could buy 4x Cube 2000 units and salvage the expansion batteries to make your own fully expanded Cube 5kW power station and have 3x Cube 1kW power stations left over as spares or resell. There are better options out there though if you need a 5kW power station.

I actually love Segway's recent direction into e-bikes; so it makes me wonder, why did they bother going into the power station market? I wonder the same about DJI (compared to "do what you're best at")? Maybe these business models were formulated during that crazy period a few years ago when the future looked like it was going to be continuous lockdown and the need for self-sufficient home infrastructure (now an hilarious memory of overreaction).
