I did this deal yesterday at my local Best Buy in Yorba Linda, CA Best Buy. I purchased online for pickup. It was ready within an hour, i brought my grey Switch 1 with power cable, dock and straps. I completed the trade in and the only thing they required was the console w/joycons and the power cable. He let me keep the docs and straps. They said they just recycled the other parts. I also had the same issue as the other poster about the rep saying I only get $75 back, i showed the receipt, the manager came and showed me the screen that it does shows $75 trade in and $75 for trade in promo with Switch 2 purchase. He said the $150 will be refunded back to my credit card within 48 hours. Process was easy, the only quality check they did was they made sure it turned on and that iis it.

Now is the time to trade up if you were planning to get the switch 2 anyway. It still plays all the switch 1 games. Prices go up in September.

Don't people typically need to still have their original switch to transfer things over to the switch 2, though? I assume if wanting to keep save data, at least, but then I assume digital games and expansion packs would be tied to the nintendo account?

I did this yesterday with my OLED, and I can confirm that all that was needed was the switch, joycon and power adapter. I kept the dock.

I switched (heh) from the Switch OLED to the Switch 2 and I wish I could've transplanted the old screen over. I'd gladly forego the higher resolution and VRR of the new LCD for the perfect black levels and response time of the old OLED.

So I guess what I'm confused on is if I sign up for this deal today and go to best buy with my switch in a few days. Do I get all the value for it right there and get a chance to walk out with the switch 2 or does the whole process take a few days no matter what.

Switch online sub, cloud saves for most games.

They took my 8 year old switch even though both joycons had drift, they didn't even power it on.

Not sure how good a deal this was but after the thousands of hours I got on mine getting 60% trade in value for what I paid seemed worthwhile

Any idea if you're able to do shipping, but trade in the Switch in person? Ideally want to migrate data over, and then trade it in, but don't want to risk it by shipping.

Right now this is the best value you can get for your switch/OLED

You get the trade in value the same day you pick up your switch 2. i did online pickup, traded my switch 1 and got my switch 2. easy transaction.

I was wondering something along these lines because when I say I have a switch with blue/red joycons it presents the mario kart bundle or the regular one... and the mario kart one it only offers $75 for..

As it turns out! I have two switches, both are v2 units with xkw serial numbers and hac001(-01) on the back. And the one I want to trade in was a 'mario kart bundle' unit lol.

How do I make sure they give me $150 for it and not $75? Big Grin

Your digital games from the nintendo eshop are tied to your nintendo account. Once you sign in to your nintendo account you can download the games on the new console.

I disagree. I grew up on OOT. Its the goat. I'd spend probably an excessive amount on a s2 branded OOT console, controller, whatever. And yes I've played through the ship of harkinian for it many many many times.
