A "Hey I just watched a movie" thread

One of the other forums I go to has one of these threads and I've been turned on to some good movies that other regulars just watched. I was kind of surprised not to see a similar thread here (at least not that I could find.) Big Grin

I just rewatched "Kinamand" - a cute drama about a Danish plumber who gets involved in an arranged marriage with a Chinese illegal. Good stuff (Netflix instant.)

So what have you folks watched recently?

"Knuckle" - a documentary that follows two Irish gypsy families involved in a generaton-spanning family feud - they settle their gripes with organized bare knuckle fights. Pretty interesting. 3/5

so it has the extended, dry, non-action dialogue sequences from Inglourious Basterds, the very dark and awkward humor of Zombieland, and the clever wit of all the characters in Sherlock Holmes? where was all that in the trailers? Big Grin

i'm sure i'll end up seeing it someday.

Chronicles of Riddick - very reminiscent of Beastmaster in several ways. 2.5/5 Loved the female flight computer:

Plotted course. Good.
Blue angle (?). Good.
Angle of approach. Not good. laugh out loud

Hanna 6/10

Had high expectations but thought the movie was boring. Need more Bourne Identity and less techno music. Didn't really care if she died or not and Cate Blanchette (sp?) was a bad villain.

Snatch 9/10

Last time I watched it was 10 years ago and it's just as great. Better than Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

A Simple Plan 7/10

Decent movie about 3 guys who find $4m and decide to keep it. Never simple when that much money is involved. Wonder what I'd do if I found $4m.

Paranormal Activity 3 6/10

Booooring and not scary. I liked the first one and second one was ok for a few scares but this on just dragged on with little scare.

The Lookout 7/10

Nothing great but not bad either. Gordon-Levitt plays a janitor who works at a rural bank after sustaining a debilitating head injury in a car crash. He is befriended by a bank robber who entices him with promise of a better and normal life. Things don't go as planned.

The Hunger Games 7.5/10

Good enough. Book was better of course.

The original Bad Lieutenant with Harvey Kietel (sp?) was good but explicit.
