A "Hey I just watched a movie" thread

12,438 1,117 April 23, 2010 at 06:49 PM
One of the other forums I go to has one of these threads and I've been turned on to some good movies that other regulars just watched. I was kind of surprised not to see a similar thread here (at least not that I could find.) Big Grin

I just rewatched "Kinamand" - a cute drama about a Danish plumber who gets involved in an arranged marriage with a Chinese illegal. Good stuff (Netflix instant.)

So what have you folks watched recently?

Born to Raise Hell - Steven Seagal. Now even more unbearable to watch. He's an elephant seal with a bad toupee and you know how Mike Tyson talks in a high pitched voice well Seagal is doing the same.
I quit watching his movies a long time ago lol.

Soul Kitchen - Fair. German film about an independent restauranteur who's struggling and then struggling some more after his brother gambles it away.

I was desperate. Crying Plus, my cheapo rentals add up to free movies.

One of the first lines in the movie was, "You're comin' with me b***h!" It made me burst out laughing it was so bad. LMAO

Dylan Dog: Dead of Night - Brandon Routh has a lot of potential he just needs the right role. Might help if he laid off the weights unless he wants to more superhero roles. I can see him winning an Oscar someday. The movie was 2/5.

I thought even the previews for it seemed kinda cheesy... and not in the good, intentionally cheesy way.
I think I only know the guy from episodes of Chuck.

So, you're telling me I should stop using that as a pickup line in the bar? Confused

Did you know that Steven Seagal has a weekly series on Reelz channel, "True Justice"? It's pretty bad too. I've watched a couple episodes when there's absolutely nothing else on. On the last episode, a guy gets shot and the medical examiner says he was shot with a 223mm bullet fired from an AR-15 rifle. Rofl2 That's a BIG f-ing bullet, about 8.8 inches in diameter. Btw, an Abrams tank fires a 120mm round. I think she meant, he was shot with a .223 caliber bullet, which is 0.223 inches (or 5.56mm) in diameter.

He was in Scott Pilgrim and Zack and Miri Make a Porno in cameo-esque, yet memorable roles.
He was also the star of Superman Returns, but I'm guessing you knew that.

Only thing bad about the libraries here is that the DVDs can be so scratched up that they won't play. I still love my libraries, I borrow a lot more DVDs than books. LMAO

Was he G-man in SP?
I still haven't gotten around to seeing Zack and Miri, and I didn't enjoy what I watched of Superman Returns. He certainly looks like a Superman.

Not really a movie, but it watched like one..."Johnny Carson: King of Late Night" on PBS. Really well done. 4.5

"God Bless America" - by Bobcat Goldthwait. I heard a radio interview where it sounded like a pretty smart movie. I watched it and thought it was a pretty ham handed attempt at social commentary. 2/5
