A "Hey I just watched a movie" thread

One of the other forums I go to has one of these threads and I've been turned on to some good movies that other regulars just watched. I was kind of surprised not to see a similar thread here (at least not that I could find.) Big Grin

I just rewatched "Kinamand" - a cute drama about a Danish plumber who gets involved in an arranged marriage with a Chinese illegal. Good stuff (Netflix instant.)

So what have you folks watched recently?

Man of Steel. . .Was really impressed. Excellent reboot of the franchise. As someone stated above had higher expectations secondary to it being done by Zach Snyder, produced by Christopher Nolan, and similar crew to the newer Batman movies. Might actually see it again in the theater. Depends on how many of my friends haven't seen it yet.

Yeah, I had faith that Synder would be able to do better with it than the last Superman movie.

Man of Steel

I went in with rather high expectations. I love the superman movies and the first few seasons of Smallville. I enjoyed Man of Steel quite a bit. There were quite a few emotional moments and a butt load of action. I have only two mail problems with it. Spoiler (kinda). At the end Lois knows that Clark is Superman, and Zod gets defeated hand to hand by superman. He's trained military and has all the powers of superman, but gets beat hand to hand? In the original he was outsmarted (reverse psychology that a 5 year old would not fall for...).

So it was generally very good and I will end up buying it when it comes out.
Iagree But feel the motivation for defeating Zod made it more likely. . .and the Lois knowing about it - maybe he can kiss her again and make her forget like in the older movies. . .Still though -

Unraveled - Documentary of lawyer who bilked over $750 million out of people and hedge funds. Rather boring. No remorse just excuses.

Warm Bodies - Definitely a new spin on Zombie flicks. Enjoyed it quite a bit.

I also watched Warm Bodies last weekend.

So, you have to ignore some things. You have to really just get over some of it. It's not bad as a popcorn flick. Fiance and I really liked it.

It's happy, it's cheesy, it's light. Nice change for a zombie movie. Girly

Watched Behind the Candelabra about Liberace and his lover, played by Michael Douglas and Matt Damon. Pretty good movie, but went directly to HBO.

Firecreek

Movie storyline was so-so, but damn that Henry Fonda & James Stewarts were good actors. They don't make them like that anymore.

Zod was a creation of Krypton's baby farm with single task of being a Soldier/General, where as Superman was naturally born then given the best of all DNA and makes him superior. As for Lois knowing that he is Superman is more realistic than having him put on glasses and not recognizing him.

But then you just have white text, not a true hidden text.
